This will be a long one, because so much to share and say, and ultimately want to preserve the memories of this adventure. Hopefully, you can make it through it all, and if you have not been to Two Tones Dueling Piano, you should make reservations fast and run there! 🙂
First: The Sentimental
Rob and I have been blessed with really good friends over the years together, which if you knew how hard it was for us to make friends and maintain close relationships…well, you would be shocked. When we thought about celebrating his birthday in a unique way-we were over the moon excited when these amazing friends said they would take time out of their busy schedules on a Friday night and hang with us! For most of us, we met when our kids were in elementary school, some in toddlerhood and one beautiful couple moved in when the kids hit high school. These are the women you turn to when you need prayer…the women I am glad to still celebrate life with! Despite our kids going different directions, we have made the commitment to still stay close. We have lived through sick kids, lost pets, lost parents, drivers licenses, teenage ups and downs, college decisions…I can not tell you how many times I have been worried or scared, asked these women to pray and God moved massive obstacles!
That brings me to this adventure. My hubby turned 50 this week, and I wanted to do something fun and make Rob feel loved! These beautiful friends went abbove and beyond to make him feel like he was the king of the world, or at least the bar! lol! These couples (as you will see in the pictures below) are some of the most beautiful people inside and out. Their light shines so bright and everyone who knows them will agree that we have the best couple friends any couple could ever hope for!
Embarrasing Rob & Two Tones Piano Bar
The bar is without a doubt the best experience we could have hoped for when trying to decide on the adventure of a lifetime for our 50 new adventures. Don’t get me wrong, we have been to a Dueling Piano bar before, but it pales in comparison to the entertainment at Two Tones!
The musicians are some of the most talented musicians I have ever watched! I never once saw them read music. The band’s talents went from piano, singing, keytar, guitar, harmonica, drums and even a fiddle! Be sure to watch the videos if you get a chance! Monumental talent!
One memory I definitely do not want to ever forget is my friends paying to embarrass Rob. I will be honest, I miss seeing Rob on stage and the amount of joy shown in one of the pictures my friend Mitzie took brought all those memories back of how happy he used to be when performing. Ok, really getting sidetracked. Two Tones does a great job celebrating your loved ones. If you go, make sure they know if you are celebrating. However, this was never what we thought would happen…the creativity of these guys! Rob loved every moment! Please don’t watch video with kids in the room! Two Tones is for adults. But the creativity of the artists and the generosity of our friends were beyond memorable!
Hard to Follow Those Videos, but here is a review of Two Tones 🙂
Seriously, words can not do justice to this place, so please watch and scroll through the videos and gallery! They went from classics to Nirvana to standing on top of the piano to standing on top of the bar to playing the fiddle for The Devil Went Down to Georgia to an amazing guitar solo during Purple Rain! The energy was electrifying! Our server, Anna, was phenomenal! It looked like she had half the bar, and I do not think we ever had to track her down, as she was always available, asking if we were good! The performers are so good at entertainment and getting the crowd involved! One of my favorite things was seeing all the different ages, groups and kinds of people come together and have fun! There was a cute table of girls wearing the coolest wigs by us, and you will notice Mitzie in a pic with one of the girls. At one point, we looked up to find Vicki and MItzie just swaying with the girls at the table in front of us on their way back from the stage. 🙂 You found community with strangers under the magic of music and laughter! The musicians were truly the reason for this atmosphere!
